CheckoutHISTORY OF SCHOOL BOARDS
We all went to school. Probably everyone remembers the blackboard in his class. And now it is already difficult to imagine a class without a blackboard. She has long become a familiar part of the educational process. But few people know the history of its origin.
Until the middle of the 19th century, there were no traditional blackboards in educational institutions. The phrase “summon to the board” must have sounded differently at that time. Each student had his own small tablet, which looked more like a tablet.
It was made from a special flat stone mineral called shale. They wrote on it with coal. Even now it is used, but they write on the slate with an aluminum stick. Surely, erasing notes from such a board is not an easy task.
Later, other surfaces appeared on which they began to write with chalk. These are planks made from linoleum that were painted with floor paint every year. There were also blackboard paints. After that, they began to use modern chipboard with a rough surface and HPL furniture plastic (although this is just pressed paper impregnated with a combustible polymer).
BRIEF OVERVIEW OF BOARD TYPES
At first glance, the modern blackboard does not differ much from what it was many centuries ago. The same surface on which something is written. But in reality, everything is much more interesting.
There are many factors that affect the quality, durability, properties when writing and erasing, the color of the surface, what material it is made of, what they write - chalk or marker, environmental friendliness, safety, the number of surfaces, the type of framing and ease of installation, the weight of the board. There are about 12 important criteria for choosing a blackboard in total. And we all know this impeccably, since for over 20 years we have been producing blackboards for Ukrainian schools and supplying them abroad. Our production has a number of certificates, including international ones.
Now the best modern surface for blackboards is a metal sheet covered with several layers of special enamel, which is baked in an oven at a high temperature. This creates an enamelled blackboard surface. They are magnetic and incredibly easy to use.
Boards can be green and black for chalk and chalk markers. Or in white for writing with a marker. It is easy and soundless to write on the surface with chalk or a marker, and it is also easy to erase with a regular sponge, without leaving marks on the surface and without scratching it.
Modern blackboards can be uncoated or coated on the back. This is necessary to create structural rigidity. When writing, the chalkboard surface will not bend and “play” when pressed.
There are many manufacturers on the market who neglect this seemingly insignificant factor. But this is an important point. Thanks to the reinforcement with metal on the back side, the boards are more convenient to use, they are reliable and last longer. Our boards are just like that.
Among the wide range of whiteboard products on the market, you can find single-surface and multi-surface boards. With marker, chalk and even combined surface. Now about the drawing. Almost all manufacturers do this. But, unfortunately, usually this is scratching the surface of the board with some solid object. This method violates the surface. A board with such a lacing will not last long.
But there is a modern way of tracing. This is a special equipment with - laser. We use this drawing in the production of modern blackboards.
You can order any laser tracing from us. This is a unique technology that allows you to outline any surface of the board without damaging the metal base.
In addition, there are generally accepted standard board sizes. But very few companies make custom size boards. With us you can choose either a standard board size or order a board according to individual sizes.
